Enzym Group — the Ukrainian market leader in yeast, one of the key ingredients for baking Paska. In preparation for the holidays, our team planned production and sales as early as March so that everyone could have the opportunity to bake their own Paska.
This year, Easter was celebrated together by all Christians, regardless of the calendar. It was a challenge—and we met it.
Igor Lozynskyi, Director of Production, says:
“The last time we experienced a situation like this was in 2017. Back then, we had to supply nearly everyone, which made us intensely focused. After analyzing sales history from previous years, we increased production by 25 percent. Forecasting sales accurately was difficult—we didn’t want to overproduce. At the same time, we had to consider shelf life and ensure there was enough yeast, especially during the last two pre-Easter weeks, when the bulk of sales occurs.”
We ramped up production by 25 percent, producing 6 more tonnes of yeast per day than usual. One month before the holidays, we sold 492 tonnes of yeast in small packaging—33 tonnes more than last year. In the final week before Easter, sales reached record highs—quadrupling.
Volodymyr Klymovych, Sales Director for the Ukrainian Market, says:
“This period is arguably the most important for the company in terms of small-package yeast sales, both compressed and dry. We prepare well in advance with colleagues from production, logistics, marketing, and trade marketing. Knowing in March that the Easter season would be unusually intense, we model sales based on market trends and align them with our production and logistical capacities. Everything had to be so precise that we produced, sold the yeast on time, and avoided exceeding its short shelf life.”
Ukrainians could purchase our products in all national and regional supermarkets, such as Silpo and ATB. This way, we fulfilled 99.9 percent of our clients’ orders, and every second Paska in Ukraine was baked using our yeast.
Over the four weeks preceding Easter, we also exported 110 tonnes of small-package compressed yeast to various countries.
The holidays begin with our brand
Together with ambassador of the Easter campaign, Yevhen Klopotenko, “Lvivski Drizhdzhi” (“Lviv Yeast”) explored the authentic Ukrainian Paska traditions—Lvivsky, Vinnytsky, and Oleksandriysky varieties. With the help of influencers, bloggers, and media personalities, we inspired everyone to bake their own Paska with their personal meaning, flavor, and mood. In collaboration with Uklon, we launched the “Easter Love Delivery.”
A special Paska made with “Lviv Yeast” was baked at Sunshine Café. Every hryvnia paid for it became a contribution to a greater cause—the support of Kyiv’s first inclusive café, Sunshine Café.
In cooperation with the Innovative Bread Baking Center “Khlibny Dim,” we held a master class in Paska baking for first- and second-year students of the Lviv Specialized College of Food and Processing Industry under NUFT. The educational institution approached us with a request to participate in a benevolent initiative—bake 3,000 Paskas with students and donate them to the Armed Forces of Ukraine and people displaced due to the war.
This was our Easter 2025. Many thanks to everyone involved.
