The main thing about Bakery Solutions in 2025
Enzym Bakery Solutions is a direction of Enzym Group, which combines the well-known Lviv Yeast, baking mixes and confectionery additives, as well as the expertise of the Bread Baking Innovation Center "Khlibny Dim". This is a space where technology meets practice; where recipes do not lie on the shelf, but are tested, adapted and live in real production. The goal of Enzym Bakery Solutions is simple - to grow together with those who bake. To look for new opportunities and prove every day that yeast can do more.
We have collected the main facts about the direction in 2025, including:
- 3,000 Easter cakes were baked with students and donated to defenders and charity. In general, every second Easter cake was baked for Easter from our products
- Together with Yevhen Klopotenko, we presented "What kind of dough are you made of?" – interactive map of Ukrainian baking
- A new product has been released – osmotolerant yeast Effect Gold, to make the dough even fluffier
- Before Christmas, 6 tons of osmotolerant yeast were sold. This can make 3 million 300 thousand donuts
- The innovative bakery center "Khlibny Dim" has created its own development laboratory, which is updating recipes and developing new products.
February 11 – Day of Women and Girls in Science
Today, the Enzym Group team includes 32 female scientists.
Curiosity, professionalism and the desire to make the world a better place are qualities that have no gender. But they require an environment free from stereotypes.
At Enzym Group, we are convinced that equal opportunities are the key to true progress. Therefore, we are building a space where everyone can realize their potential, regardless of gender, age or skin color.
On the occasion of this day, the director of the R&D center of Enzym Group Olena Krasovska shared her vision of developing opportunities for women in science. Olena wrote the column for the NV.Business publication, analyzing the research of INSCIENCE and the Cedos analytical center.
The results show that gender parity is almost maintained in the scientific environment — about 50%. At the same time, the higher up the career ladder — the fewer women there are. In particular, among the heads of scientific institutions — only 12%.
Olena has been in science for over 25 years, more than half of which she worked as an engineer at the Institute of Cell Biology of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine. She has been working at Enzym Group since 2013. She started as a leading chemist, and today she heads the company's R&D center, developing new products based on yeast cells that businesses can scale and implement.
According to her, one of the things that female scientists need is the opportunity to choose their own path without the condemnation of society.
"Sometimes, sometimes they say that a woman makes a career because her personal life didn't work out, why would she do that, she would be better off taking care of children. And this attitude of society must change. If quotas are introduced to equalize the gender balance in science, then for me this is an underestimation of the potential. This is only a temporary solution for changes in society," says Olena.
DeepTech Prototyping Laboratory at Lviv Polytechnic
Back in 2024, Enzym Group invested UAH 2 million to create the DeepTech Prototyping Laboratory at Lviv Polytechnic. The laboratory has begun its work and students and scientists will be able to work with real technologies.
Deep-tech is about fundamental discoveries that change industries. And we are convinced: business should not be an outside observer, but an active partner in science.
During the opening of the laboratory, Enzym Group co-owner and Chairman of the Supervisory Board Olena Vovk and the rector of the university Nataliya Shakhovska signed a Memorandum of Further Cooperation.
A competition has begun for scientists based on the newly created laboratory, and a student hackathon is being prepared. This laboratory is more than equipment. It is an environment where ideas have a chance to become technologies.
We thank our partners for the joint step towards a new format of interaction between business and the university.
We continue to work together.
Enzym Group has collected memories of employees for the 4th anniversary of the war
When a country is going through trials, the most important thing is to preserve the foundation. For us, this meant one thing: there must be bread.
Therefore, we prepared for a full-scale war in advance, because we understood our responsibility.
When other yeast producers in Ukraine were forced to suspend work, we lent our shoulder. We reoriented exports to domestic needs, formed strategic reserves. We helped the city, because this is our home.
In times of uncertainty, yeast became not just a product, but an opportunity to resist. Because when there is bread, there is life. And when there is life, there is hope.
Recently, our team received gratitude from the Snihuriv city military administration in the Mykolaiv region. Before the occupation, we managed to deliver two tons of our yeast there - the entire Bashtansky district was rushing to buy bread for them for another month.
We thank each and every one who is defending our country today. Among them are 27 Enzym members. We are proud, support and wait. We remember our fallen colleagues, eternal honor to them.
Glory to Ukraine!
Enzym Group entered the TOP-5 of The Page’s “Sustainable Development Programs Ranking”
We took 4th place according to the results of the assessment by an independent expert jury.
In 2024, our company conducted an ESG audit and approved a five-year strategy with a clear roadmap and KPIs.
“We consider ESG as a tool for managing a company at the transformation stage. These principles are integrated into the strategy, operational processes and corporate governance. We consciously focus on European and global standards, even in the absence of mandatory requirements. This approach creates trust and increases business sustainability. Therefore, it is valuable for us to receive a high assessment of our projects from an independent jury,” says Andriy Tsegelyk, CEO of Enzym Group.
The rating noted companies that have a transition strategy, measurable KPIs, non-financial reporting, management involvement and transparent communication.
Thank you to the team and partners. We continue our systematic work!
